WMU Calendar of Events

Woman's Missionary Union is an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention that seeks to equip adults, youth, children and preschoolers with missions education to become radically involved in the mission of God. WMU seeks to promote and support missions by providing

• Mission organizations for women, girls, and preschoolers
• Special missions projects for the Church
• Missions involvement for families
• Missions involvement for individuals

The work of the WMU is to:

• pray for and give to missions
• do missions
• learn about missions
• develop spiritually toward a missions life-style
• participate in the work of the church and the denomination

Women on Mission (ages 18 up) The general meeting is held quarterly at 10:30 a.m. in E-2nd Floor during December, March, June and September. For more information go to www.womenonmission.com. The following groups meet each month and are involved in fulfilling one or more of the WMU tasks in ways that are unqiue to the group:

• Career Women on Mission - Dorris Ann Taylor, Facilitator - meets the second Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in members' homes
• Night Women on Mission - Karen McLeary, Facilitator - meets the second Monday at 7:00 p.m. in members' homes
• Mary-Martha Mission Group - Martha Ann Tankersley, Facilitator - meets the third Monday at 10:00 a.m. at 43 Coatsland to carry meals to shut-ins
• Mae Guy Bible Study Group - Brenda Williams, Bible Study Leader - meets the fourth Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in members' homes
• Myrtice Owens Mission Study Group - Irene Bishop, Facilitator - meets the fourth Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in members' homes or at church
• Jean Carlisle Fitts Group - Sue Utley and Monte Taylor, Facilitators - meets the second Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Room 130
• Sewing Ministry - Fran Everett, Facilitator - meets the first Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at WJBC

Girls in Action - G.A.'s (girls in grades 1-5) - Susan Grisham, Director - meets each Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in Room D-211

Mission Friends (Children ages 2 -5) - Beverly Foropoulos, Director - meets each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in D and E-Wings, 1st Floor
