Ministry and Service
The Senior Adult Ministry at West Jackson Baptist Church (for adults 55 years of age and up) is formulated to meet the need for invigorating fellowship while also providing opportunities for senior adults to be actively engaged in various ministries of the church. From the preparation of materials for our weekly G.R.O.W. outreach program to extensive volunteer efforts associated with our annual Operation Christmas Child project, senior adults are a vital link in the ministry of the church. Our senior adults bring the wisdom of years to their service of the Lord, but they likewise savor the opportunities that we share for fun and fellowship together. This all occurs in the context of a commitment to Bible study and growing faith. Join us as we serve our glorious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Fellowship and Friendship
Senior adults will find a warm and secure environment within the senior adult ministry for Christian fellowship and making new friends. A Golden Ager meeting is held at the church on the second Thursday of each month with a wide array of entertaining programming; a fellowship lunch follows the meeting at the church or an area restaurant. Day trips are on the schedule throughout the year as well as destination trips at various times. These events are planned with senior adult interests in mind, and provide a time of refreshment as well as opportunities for Christian friendships to develop or be enhanced.
