At the time of our salvation, God begins the process of transforming us into the likeness or image of Christ (Romans 8:29). At the New Birth Christ imparts into us His holiness and righteousness. Yet He expects the new believer to grow in his or her new love relationship with Him. Prayer is the natural expression of that love relationship with Christ. Just as Jesus modeled prayer out of His relationship with the Father, the believer should seek to grow in his relationship with God through prayer. The Core Value Heart-felt, Persistent Prayer should be a priority in every believer’s life—a priority promoting Kingdom growth. Likewise, this core value must be the foundation upon which all church ministries and strategies are based.
