God is on a mission at Hartland Place Apartments and something wonderful is happening. Men, women, and children who do not normally attend church are participating in weekly Bible studies. Each Monday evening begins with a nutritious meal provided by a Bible Fellowship team for each resident that attends. The children then meet for a small group Bible study according to their age. They hear God's Word, memorize Bible verses, make crafts, and play games. Many children are introduced to Jesus for the first time and are learning what a personal relationship with Christ means. The Hartland adults who attend their weekly Bible studies are being mentored by wonderful Christian men and women. Prayers have been answered and friendships have developed through the sharing of personal stories and testimonies.
The volunteers who serve faithfully at Hartland have been able to share Christ's love by helping to meet the physical and emotional needs of many residents. Beds to sleep on, sofas to sit on, tables to eat and do homework on, lamps to light their living rooms, clothing, and food have been provided to the families who desperately needed them. Once their physical needs have been met, their hearts become hungry for the spiritual needs that only Christ can provide.
The Hartland Place Ministry begins and ends with God. He knew exactly how and when this mission would start. He stirred the hearts of His people to reach the lost in our community and then opened the door of opportunity. Seeds are being planted, lives are being changed, and new souls are being added to the kingdom. The volunteers who obediently serve each week have the privilege of watching God work in ways that only He can. All the glory for what happens at Hartland goes to Him. This mission is not about any one person or group of people, but about a Savior who loves each and every one of us just the same and does not want to see even one of His children perish. The goal of the Hartland Place Ministry is to serve in obedience while helping each resident find a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are thankful for the opportunity to take this journey and thankful to the people who have helped along the way. The number of children attending each Monday has more than doubled since the ministry begain in October. With this increase, the need for more help has also increased. Please join us in taking the church to the people and experience the joy of watching God work. If the church doesn't reach out to the lost in our community, who will? |
